Our little boy Skyler is growing up. He turned 8 today! We opened some presents , played a soccer game and prepped for a 5 man slumber party with all 8 year olds. Eccckkk.
My little boy growing up quickly. Here is Skyler’s second grade photo – wild hair and all.
Skyler came and spent the day at work with me last week at take you kid to work day. It was a blast. We had him set up with a sweet phone to keep in contact through out the day. He said he got a little board at our all hands on video conference though. I like the idea of having an assistant around.
I am getting fired up for some good shows this summer. Here is a KC based list of shows coming to town this summer. Although I’m broke and have no phish ticket to lead me on a well deserved roadtrip – I’m gonna see some good live music this year. Last show I saw was Smashing Pumpkins this winter. I need to give conner and wells a call to rally the troops with some sort of plan. Here is a photo of Skyler and I at the Incubus concert at city market a few years back.
The Corinth Fire first grade boys soccer team kicked off their first game of the season. Both teams took command today and won their games by decend margin. Here is Sky man before the game. Reved up and ready to go.
The boys are struggeling with a how to get along these days. Thank god it’s spring time in the midwest so we can push them outside and they have more room to spread out. This picture was taken last week when we were messing around outside and there was a formal agreement to get along. It was even was sealed with a handshake. That lasted for about 8 minutes…
And the parties keep rolling. Skyler had a bunch of his buddies gathered up to celebrate his seventh birthday. Here is the man getting ready to blow out his candles.
What a fabulous 80’s degree day here in the Midwest. I had off work for Skyler’s spring break so… actually a sprint break. We headed down to the parade and met up later with Grandma Sharon on the Plaza for some bbq and a couple of pints. We were laying in the sun just chilling to some sweet tunes on the deck later in the afternoon. Top ten best days in 2009.
Had a great time hanging out with the boys tonight. We were having too much fun apparently… When it was time to go to bed everyone was pissed off that the fun had stopped and now it was bedtime. Just another school night, but I love these guys.
We have been playing in the snow all weekend, finally getting in some winter style fun. Skyler and Wes did some sleding today and had a snowball fight that lasted about 45 seconds until Wes got blasted in the face, cried and had to go inside.
